It all started with a pile of old windows from my grandparents’ house. I had seen photo studios made from windows before, and I dreamed of having one of my own. Thankfully, I have a jack-of-all-trades husband who likes to make my dreams come true.

With the help of my dad, we used the windows from the home that he grew up in to act as the main focal point of the project. I wonder how many times my grandparents looked out of these windows to see children playing in the yard or guests pulling in the driveway. Countless times, small handprints left by children and grandchildren were wiped away. You could look through these windows to see my Pa Gene tending to his vegetable garden, and I bet there was a time or two when my dad looked through these windows to see my mom coming or going when their love was brand new. 

The Glasshouse is located down in the valley of our 6-acre Tennessee hillside property. It is surrounded by a tree swing, seasonal wildflower field, campfire pit, and rolling hills. I can’t wait to show you around!
